The Legend's Goal

In the 47th minute of the first half, Thierry Henry burst from midfield, passed Ronaldo , Guti and Ramos with class and finished with precision into Casillas ' corner, scoring one of the most iconic goals of his career. A true masterpiece in the Madrid temple.
A Secure, Mature and Inspired Arsenal
Despite the Merengue's attacking strength, which included stars such as Zidane, Beckham, Robinho and Ronaldo himself, Arsenal showed impressive defensive solidity. With a defense led by Kolo Touré and a solid Lehmann in goal, Arsène Wenger 's team held on to the result with authority.
The Historical Context
Arsenal were coming off an inconsistent Premier League season and were betting all their chips on the Champions League. Real Madrid were under pressure from fans who were impatient with their lack of European success since 2002. The result was a clash of realities — and the Londoners came out on top.
In the return leg at Highbury, a goalless draw sealed Arsenal's historic qualification for the quarter-finals, beginning the club's best European campaign, which would only be interrupted in the final against Barcelona.
A Game Forever
The victory at the Bernabéu is still celebrated by Arsenal fans as one of the club's greatest international achievements. And what about Henry's goal? A symbol of leadership, technique and courage. A true postcard from the career of one of the greatest strikers of all time.
