If you're in London and you like football, watching a game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is an experience well worth it!

The stadium, opened in 2019, is simply one of the most modern in the world — with a capacity for more than 62,000 people, free Wi-Fi, a retractable roof and even its own brewery inside the arena! 🍺🤯

I had the chance to watch a Spurs game up close, and I can say: the atmosphere is incredible . From the moment you arrive at the stadium, to the lively atmosphere around it, to the moment the anthem is played before the ball starts to roll — everything is designed to engage the fans from start to finish.

Access is also super easy: the stadium is located in north London and is well served by public transport. White Hart Lane (Overground) station is just a few minutes' walk from the main entrance.

If you’re planning a trip and you love football, this stadium is definitely worth a visit. Whether you’re looking to watch Tottenham or just enjoy the vibe of a big European game, the experience is worth every minute.

🏟️ A new chapter in Spurs history

The current Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opened in April 2019 , built on the site of the former White Hart Lane , the club's home for over 100 years. The brief was clear: to create a modern, innovative stadium that would take the club to new international heights .

With a capacity for more than 62,000 fans , the new stadium is considered one of the most technologically advanced in the world. It was designed with futuristic architecture and details that will delight even those who are not fans of the club. Highlights include:

  • A retractable field , which can also host NFL games and large concerts.

  • A state-of-the-art sound and image system.

  • The largest single stand in the UK (the famous South Stand), inspired by Borussia Dortmund's "yellow wall".

More than just a stadium, it represents a new era for Tottenham — combining tradition, modernity and the passion of English fans.

Founded in 1882 , Tottenham Hotspur is one of the most traditional clubs in England. The team plays its games in North London and has a passionate fan base, known for their intense support, especially in the stadium's famous South Stand .

Among its main titles are:

  • 2 English Championships (in 1951 and 1961)

  • 8 FA Cups

  • 4 English League Cups

  • 2 UEFA Europa League (formerly UEFA Cup) titles

  • 1 European Cup Winners' Cup

Despite not winning the Premier League in the modern era, Tottenham remains a competitive club, with a strong presence in European competitions and always with strong squads.

🎟️ What it's like to watch a game at Tottenham's stadium

Watching a game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is one of those experiences that will stay in the memory of football fans forever. From the moment you arrive at the stadium to the final whistle, everything is impressive — and not just because of the game itself, but because of the entire structure around it.

I was lucky enough to watch a great Premier League 2023/2024 game between Tottenham and Everton . And to make the experience even better, I saw Brazilian Richarlison score up close, driving the fans crazy! 🇧🇷🔥

Access to the stadium is very easy. White Hart Lane Overground station leaves you just a few minutes from the entrance. The surrounding area is full of excited fans, vibrant pubs and that “matchday” atmosphere that only English football can provide. And something that really caught my attention: even with the stadium full, entry and exit are super quick and organized. No pushing and shoving or endless queues.

As soon as you enter, the structure impresses. The South Stand , with its more than 17 thousand fans, looks like a wall of sound. The view of the field is excellent from any seat, and the big screens, sound system and even the bars (with that technology that fills your beer glass from below!) complete a modern and vibrant atmosphere.

During the game, the fans sing, cheer and experience every moment with intensity. Even those who don't support the Spurs end up being infected by the energy of the stadium.

If you're in London, watching a Tottenham game is a must for any football fan . A top-notch stadium, an electrifying game and a breathtaking atmosphere. It's definitely worth it!

Practical tips for those who want to visit

If you're going to London and want to include a Tottenham match in your itinerary, here are some tips that can make all the difference:

🚇 How to get to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is located in the north London borough of Tottenham and is super accessible by public transport.

The most practical way to get there is by Overground (surface train). Just take the line that goes to the station:

🚉 White Hart Lane Station → Just a 5-minute walk from the stadium . → On match days, access is well organized, with signage and flow control.

If you are staying in central London areas (such as Liverpool Street, Oxford Circus or Victoria), the journey to the stadium takes around 30-40 minutes , depending on the line and time.

Another option is to take the tube to Seven Sisters station (Victoria Line) and then walk for about 30 minutes or take the Overground to White Hart Lane.

🚶♂️ On match days, there are several signs and volunteers helping with direction , so it's quite easy to find your way around.

London is very accessible in terms of transport, however depending on the region you are in it will take time to get to the stadium, as it is located in the north of the city I suggest you leave well in advance on the day of the game.

Please note that the stadium is completely outside the central area where most tourists stay. Even so, it is still worth watching a game or visiting!

🏨 Where to stay to watch a Tottenham game

Although Tottenham's stadium is a little far from the tourist center of London, it is possible to stay in nearby areas with good value for money and easy access to the stadium.

🔹 Top tip: Stay in central London with easy access

A very common strategy is to stay in central areas such as King's Cross, Liverpool Street, Euston or Victoria , which have great transport links to North London.

  • ibis London Blackfriars

  • YHA London St. Pancras (modern hostel with private rooms)

  • Z Hotel Shoreditch

  • Travelodge London City (great value for money)

Do you enjoy exploring the city beyond the game? Then this is the best option. You can see the sights and, on the day of the match, just take the train to the stadium — simple and practical.

🎫 Where to buy tickets for Tottenham games

The safest and most reliable way to buy tickets to see Tottenham live is directly on the club's official website:

There you will find:

  • Premier League games, domestic and European cups

  • Updated prices

  • Option to choose seat on stadium map

📌 Important tips:

  • Register on the website in advance , as for some games you will need to be a “One Hotspur Member” (paid plan) to purchase tickets.

  • For less competitive games (such as against smaller clubs), you can buy even without being a member.

  • Prices range from £30 to £90 , depending on the sector and competition.

✅ Other safe options:

If you can't find it through the official website, you can try:

  • Official resale platforms like StubHub or LiveFootballTickets.

  • In England I prefer Livefootballtickets, as they are specialized in the market there.

  • Attention! Both sites are resellers and not official suppliers and although safe, they are more expensive and always have risks. (be aware at the time of purchase)

🛍️ Tottenham Hotspur Official Store

If you're a football fan (or want to take home a souvenir from your visit), you can't miss the official Tottenham store , located in the stadium itself!

The Spurs Shop at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is huge and super modern — one of the largest club shops in Europe. There you’ll find:

  • Official shirts (including personalized with name and number)

  • Casual and retro line

  • Coats, caps, scarves and accessories

  • Exclusive products that are only sold in the physical store

  • Items for children and even home decor

🕒 Opening hours (generally):

  • Monday to Saturday: 10am to 6pm

  • Sunday: 11am to 5pm On match days, the store closes early to reopen after the match.

📍 Location: It is integrated into the stadium, on the outside — easy to access, even without a ticket for the game.

🎟️ What is the entry process like at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?

Going to a Tottenham game is already incredible in itself — and the experience starts well before the ball even kicks off. Entry to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is very organized, safe and quick, even with over 60,000 fans. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you know exactly what to expect:

📲 1. Digital ticket

Tickets are sent by email or are available on the club's official app . They come with a QR Code , which you scan directly at the turnstile.💡 Tip: download your ticket before leaving the hotel. The internet can be unstable near the stadium, especially in the minutes before the game.

⏰ 2. Arrive early

Doors usually open 2 hours before the game starts . Arriving early avoids lines, gives you time to visit the official store, eat something and calmly get into the game mood.

🔍 3. Security and search

Before entering, you will go through a standard security check . It is quick and easy. Small bags are allowed, but avoid carrying large backpacks or unnecessary items.

⚠️ No sharp objects, bottles or cans — these items may be banned.

🧭 4. Seat access

After the ticket control, just follow the internal signs or ask one of the many stadium employees. Everything is very well organized and intuitive.

🚀 5. Smooth exit

Even with a full stadium, the exit is quick and well controlled. White Hart Lane station organizes the flow with blockades by groups, which avoids crowds and ensures that everyone leaves safely and calmly.

If you’re planning to watch a game in London, you don’t need to worry about the entry process — Tottenham offers one of the most modern and secure experiences in Europe. Now all you have to do is cheer, sing and enjoy every moment! 💙⚽

My final vision

Watching a game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was, without a doubt, one of the most memorable experiences in my career as a football and travel enthusiast. It’s not just about watching the ball roll — it’s about being part of a unique atmosphere , a passionate culture , and a centuries-old history that pulsates in every corner of the stadium.

Although the stadium is located in a region further away from central London, access is easy, well signposted and extremely organized. It may seem a little far on the map, but it is well worth the trip . The structure, the energy of the fans and the experience as a whole make it all worth it — and a lot.

If you, like me, have a traveling and footballing spirit, don't think twice about including Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in your London itinerary. It may be hard to get a ticket, it may be expensive at times, but the memories you'll take away will make up for every effort.
